Mary Lou Bennett, 86, of Allegheny Township, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Ross Memory Meadows in Leechburg. She was born November 5, 1931 in New Kensington, daughter of the late Joseph “Lew” and Mary C.Wright and lived in Allegheny Township. Mary Lou was known to her family and friends as a person who loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, and playing the piano and violin. Survivors include her two sons, Skip (Mindy) Bennett of Allegheny Township and Scott Bennett of Driftwood; daughter Kim (Gary) Updegraff of Reading; four grandchildren, Kary (John) Heller; Luke (Jen) Bennett; Carli Bennett (Pete Charron) and Mike Bennett; four grandchildren, Brigid, Charlotte, Luca and Mya. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Bennett. Family and friends will be received from 2 until time of service at 5 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, with Rev. Nate Watkins officiating. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park is private. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011
