Barbara (France) Kasavage

Barbara A. (France) Kasavage, age 80, of Lower Burrell, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024.  She was born in New Kensington to the late Benjamin A. who was a WWII Veteran and Anna (Rochna) France and had lived in the Lower Burrell and New Kensington area all of her life.  Barbara had worked for Shop-N-Save in Lower Burrell and Caremark in RIDC Park.  She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Lower Burrell.  She was a “homemaker” who enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her hobbies included crocheting, camping, listening to Elvis Presley, country music, and Christian music.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kasavage who passed in 2013.  Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Kasavage Hamilton of Arnold and Elizabeth Kasavage of Arnold; son William (Chevelle) Kasavage of Lower Burrell; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; best friend and sister-in-law Dora Kasavage Kelly; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Family and friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA  15068.  A private Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Margaret Mary Church with a private burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Tarentum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Diabetes Prevention Program, 3600 Forbes Avenue # 606, Pittsburgh, PA  15213.
