Idella "Iddy" (Mitchell) Steen

Idella L. “Iddy” (Mitchell) Steen, 87, of Lower Burrell passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Steen.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Thomas, sisters Gwen Mitchell, Velma Mator and brother Kenneth Mitchell.  Idella was a Registered Nurse for Citizens Hospital until starting her family.  She was an active member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the DAR.  Idella enjoyed square dancing with her husband, her ladies craft group, watching the birds, crossword puzzles and baking.  She truly enjoyed watching the Pirates and Steelers, only when they were winning!  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  She is survived by her daughters Susan (Curt) Baumann of Monroeville, Sandra (Brian) Moroney of Shoemakersville and son-in-law Steve Thomas of Michigan.  Grandma of Erika, Erin and Justin; 5 great grandchildren; brother Darrell Mitchell of South Carolina.  Family and friends will be received on Monday April 1st from 3-6 p.m. at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., 2877 Leechburg Rd, Robert P. Karish, Supervisor, Lower Burrell.  Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3084 Leechburg Rd, Lower Burrell with Rev.
