Lillian J. Armstrong

Our dear mother Lillian J. (Adams) Armstong, 96, of Lower Burrell sadly passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday March 30, 2024.  She was born April 24, 1927, to the late Louis and Katherine Adams of Arnold.  She was a member of Lower Burrell Baptist Church in Lower Burrell.  She was the beloved wife of the late Neil E. Armstrong, Jr.  Lillian enjoyed traveling and having day trips.  She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports and all other activities, never missing an event.  She was a very caring and loving person to all who knew her and would always bring a smile to your face.  The only thing better than having her for our mom is our children having her for a grandma and great grandma.  She is survived by her three children; sons Bruce (Michele) Armstrong of Winchester, VA, Todd (Carol Jo) Armstrong of Leechburg and daughter Kathie (Rick) Rayburg of Arnold; dear grandmother of Megan Armstrong, Chad (Katrina) Armstrong, Carrie Armstong, Johanna (Dennis) Armstrong, Adam (Marissa) Rayburg and Bryan (Angel) Rayburg; great grandchildren Lily Armstrong, Brody Armstrong and Andrew Rayburg.  Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., Robert P. Karish, Supervisor, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell (724) 335-6500 where the service will be held on Thursday April 4th at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor James Clemens officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.  www.giglerfuneralhome.com.
