Audrey J. (Norris) Berger, 83, of New Kensington, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Platinum Ridge Center in Brackenridge. She was born July 25, 1934 in New Kensington, daughter of the late Edna Norris, and lived in the New Kensington area all of her life. Audrey was a long-time employee of Princess Pastries and in the New Kensington school district cafeteria, retiring June 6, 2002. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington and the Arnold Engine Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Berger, and her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” McConville. Survivors include her son-in-law, Art McConville of Allegheny Township; granddaughters Terri (Chad) Patterson of Allegheny Township and Susan (Jim) Slimick of Lower Burrell; great granddaughters, Hannah and Kenzie Patterson and a great grandson on the way. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Alfred S. Petrill Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Platinum Ridge Center and Heritage Hospice for their care and compassion.
