Bernard A. “Bernie” Woodrow, 82, of Lower Burrell, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was born October 15, 1935 in New Kensington, son of the late Leah Witen. Bernie was a teacher for the Wilikinsburg School District. He was a very active member of the North Hills Amateur Hockey Association, having served as a board member and treasurer. Prior to retirement, he was a member of PSEA and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the FBLA. He loved to travel and will be remembered by his family as a wonderful and giving person. Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Carole M. (Jennings) Woodrow; daughter, Carrie (Stephen) Barbiaux of Arnold; and two grandchildren, Shad Barbiaux and Wyatt Barbiaux, both of Arnold. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
