Betty Jean Boyer, 91, of Lower Burrell, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 in West Haven Manor in Apollo. She was born August 13, 1926 in Murrysville, daughter of the late Clyde and Mamie (Giger) McCall. Betty lived in the Lower Burrell area most of her life and had worked as a hairdresser for J. C. Penney’s. She was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lower Burrell, the Burrell Women’s Club, Eastern Star and Memories Choir. She also enjoyed camping and traveling.  Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Boyer, whom she married June, 1951; and brothers Joseph, Leonard and Kenneth McCall. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Boyer Stulgis and her husband Frank Stulgis of Evans City and Donald Boyer and his wife Rebecca of Lower Burrell; step brothers, Earl McCall and Dale McCall and step sister Lannetta McCall, all of Export; niece, Sandra McCall Bellon of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Frank M. Stulgis of Warren, Ohio; Sarah (Paul) Bauer of Lower Burrell; Benjamin (Melissa) Boyer of Upper Burrell; Edward (Michelle) Stulgis of Westerville, Ohio and Adam (Bethani) Boyer of Connecticut; great-grandchildren, Drew Stulgis and Hailey Stulgis of Warren, Ohio; Kadi Boyer of Lower Burrell; Kierstan Boyer of Upper Burrell; Madalyn Bauer of Lower Burrell; Taylor Boyer and Mason Boyer of Upper Burrell; and Ethan Stulgis and Ryan Stulgis of Westerville, Ohio. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Funeral services, with Pastor Elaine Hower officiating, will be held at 11 am Wednesday in Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lower Burrell. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3084 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
