Dorothy "Dot" (Hoak) McMeans

Dorothy E. “Dot” McMeans, 90, of Lower Burrell, died Thursday, August 9, 2018 in Bayberry Place in Lower Burrell. She was born March 12, 1928 in Tarentum, daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Foeks) Hoak. Dot was a long-time employee of Sam’s Produce in Tarentum. Survivors include four sons, Bruce (Patricia) McMeans of Arnold; Keith (Andrea) McMeans of Lower Burrell; Brian (Carla) McMeans of Washington Township and Scott (Laura) McMeans of Upper Burrell; two daughters, Adele (Tracy) Dunlap of Lower Burrell and Pamela (Michael) Wallace of Newport News, VA; 12 grandchildren, Lynn (Jay) Morrow of Apollo; Marianne Quigley of Lower Burrell; Kenneth Quigley of New Kensington; April (James) Arvay of New Kensington; Autumn McMeans of Arnold; Jonathon (Jennifer) McMeans of Plum; Daniel (Sara) McMeans of Washington Township; Joseph McMeans of Lower Burrell; Trevor (Ruth) Wallace of Alexandria, VA; Caitlin Wallace of Malden, MA; Michelle (Brendan) Lucas of Upper St. Clair; Patrick McMeans (fiancé Alyssa Stewart) of Lower Burrell; 11 great-grandchildren, Shane, BriAnna, and Jaden Quigley of Lower Burrell; Jarod and Emily Morrow of Apollo; Kelly (Jeremy) Owens of Iowa; Ashton Quigley of New Kensington; Adalie Arvay of New Kensington; Taylor McMeans of Plum; and Logan and Everleigh McMeans of Washington Township; one sister, Betty (Bob) Taylor of Lower Burrell. Besides her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, William L. McMeans, and two sisters, Vera Kamer and Shirley McMeans. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, Robert P. Karish, Supervisor, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.   Burial will follow in Mt.
