John E. “Jack” Edgar, 74, of New Kensington, died Thursday, March 8, 2018. He was born in New Kensington, son of the late James and Mary (McIntyre) Edgar. Jack was the beloved husband for 54 years to Shirley (Bash) Edgar; dear father of Jody Edgar (Stacy Coleman) of New Kensington and Jean (Larry) Wroblewski of New Kensington; grandfather of Samantha Loftus, Nicole, L. J., and Olivia Wroblewski; brother of James (Linda) Edgar of Plum; Gary (Sandra) Edgar of Lower Burrell and Ronald Edgar of New Kensington; and son-in-law of Margaret Bash and the late Charles Bash. Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers, Henry Lee, Raymond, Robert and Donald Edgar; two sisters, Donna Shaner and Mary Cornish. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 until time of service at 8 p.m. Monday in the FRANK F. GIGHLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Rev. Harold Mele Jr. will officiate.
