Marian Louise (Plate) Resetar, 88, of Cabot, formerly of Lower Burrell, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. She was born June 12, 1929 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Carl and Lily (Meegan) Plate. Marian and her husband, retired Lower Burrell Police Chief John J. Resetar, celebrated 68 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. Marian enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to visit her Amish friends in Smicksburg, cross stitching, and doing genealogy research. She worked for JC Penney for many years, and after her retirement, she owned and operated custom framing and cross stitch stores in Springdale and Arnold. Marian was the loving mother to three sons, who survive her, John K. (Elaine) Resetar of Lower Burrell; Mark A. (Desiree) Resetar of Arnold and Randy S. Resetar of Florida. Marian is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Cyprych; Sara (Jeff) Arvay; Jessie (Stephanie) Resetar; Rashell (Andy) Bailey; Ian Resetar; Amber Resetar; Erin (James) O’Mara; Elyssa Resetar; Korryn Resetar and one great-grandchild, Bria Arvay. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Carl Plate, Gladys Balkovec, Raymond Plate, Cyril Plate and Yvonne Piper. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staff at Siegert Hall, Concordia Lutheran Ministries, for their excellent care of Marian. You tended to her with such love and it will not be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 in Bethel United Methodist Church in Lower Burrell, with Pastor Rex Wasser officiating. Burial is private.
