Rosemarie Ramsden Payne, 68, of Lower Burrell died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, in her home surrounded by family. She was born May 9, 1950, in New Kensington, a daughter of the late Francis “Frank” Ramsden and Rita Nelis Ramsden. Rosemarie attended Xavier Academy and graduated from Burrell High School in 1968. She attended Indiana University of PA and Penn State University, and worked as a certified addiction counselor at St. Francis Hospital for many years. As a longtime “friend of Bill W.,” Rosemarie was passionate about helping young mothers and people who struggled with addiction. Her friends from the program were some of her most valued relationships beyond family. Her hobbies included crocheting, crafting, drawing, saving precious family items and playing the piano. She is survived by four children, Tracy Payne Weaver (Eric), Michael Payne (Stephanie), Shari Payne (Michael Purvis) and Carrie Payne; one sister, Mary Sue Ramsden (Karen Peters); one brother, James Ramsden (Carol); one niece, Michelle Ramsden Zbylut (Dan Lawrence); and eight grandchildren, Matthew Ramsden (Mary), Samantha Thomas, Autumn Weaver, Calypso Payne, Sophie Rose Purvis, Evan Michael Jones, Kellan Ramsden Jones and Madeline Rosemarie Jones. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 pm Monday and 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday in the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., Robert P. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, Lower Burrell.
