Cathy L. Gamble, age 70, a resident of Apollo went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Cathy moved north with her family in infancy to her beloved Kiski Area, where she grew up, graduated high school, attended New Kensington Business School, married, raised a family and enjoyed spending the rest of her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As a young woman, Cathy met her husband at Kensington Electric and they were married for 48 years. They started a family with their firstborn son, Wayne, a special needs child who would require her constant attention into his adulthood. Her patient care for him, though trying at times, would help mold her into the kind of understanding, caring, comforting soul in whom others could confide and place their trust. Their daughter Shannon came just a few years after Wayne and, as Cathy's voice and smile regularly revealed, she and her lovely family have been a source of joy and happiness, especially in the blessed privilege to be grandparents to their precious Brantley and Ainsley. Sincerely devoted to God, her family and her country, Cathy was always up to date on the news, was an avid reader of mystery novels, and she always enjoyed great action films--especially those with a woman playing the lead role. She demonstrated her care for others by giving her undivided attention in conversation, genuinely sharing in their triumphs, empathetically sharing in their sorrows, and in her wonderful sense of humor she was always ready to share a smile and laugh together. Cathy is survived by her husband, Larry Gamble, her children Wayne Gamble and Shannon (Phillip) Smith, her grandchildren Brantley Smith and Ainsley Smith and her sister Marcy Walden. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Twila (Slick) Walden. Cathy will be greatly missed. Services are Private. Arrangements entrusted to the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., Robert P. Karish, Supervisor, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA. (724) 335-6500.
