It is with great sadness the family of Darleen Ramsey, “The Ponderosa Lady” announces her passing on Wednesday November 22, 2023. She proudly worked for Ponderosa in Lower Burrell for 23 years as a shift coordinator. She loved her job and the interaction it gave her with people in the community. She would greet you and your family and went above and beyond to always make sure your experiences were good. She fondly spoke of her kids, meaning all the young people she worked with. Touching so many lives. We always had fun. She was born in New Kensington on January 31, 1947, to Darl McNutt and Ruth McNutt (Burkett). She was raised in Lower Burrell and graduated from Ken High in 1964. She married her husband, Kenneth Ramsey and together they had two children. She always said Ken treated her like a queen. They enjoyed camping, wood working, crafts, and raising their family. She enjoyed her trips to Colorado and many other states. Darleen and her family loved to explore and looked forward to a good road trip. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth (2013) and her beloved granddaughter, Courtney Rupert (2015). She is survived by her children Kenneth (Pam) Ramsey and Carrie (Bernard) Love, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two brothers Darl (Carol) McNutt, and Henry (Chris) McNutt and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Lower Burrell.
