Eva (Ferazzi) Schachte, 93, of Lower Burrell went to be with the Lord on Friday January 26, 2024. She was born in Greensburg to the late Angelo and Giussepina Ferazzi. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard D. Schachte, sisters Louisa Ferazzi, May Ferazzi, Iolanda Ferazzi, Rose (Louis) Tarasky and Virgina (Arthur) Scalzitti; brothers, Peter Ferazzi and Paul (Florence) Ferazzi; daughter-in-law Kathleen Schachte. Eva was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, retiring from Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington. She was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Church. She quietly supported many organizations and families in need that became part of her life. Eva adored and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You would remember Eva by receiving a little white cross and her message that “Jesus died on the cross for you, he rose again from the dead and if you invite him into your heart you will live with him forever.” Upon leaving her company she would tell you “I don’t like you….I Love You! She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Donna) Schachte of New Kensington, Aaron (Christine) Schachte of Derry, Charles (Tanya) Schachte of Allegheny Twp. and Alban Schachte of Montgomery, Alabama; her adored grandchildren Amanda Schachte, Sarah (Benjamin) Moore, Elizabeth Schachte, Matthew Schachte, Dustin Schachte, Vanessa (Michael) Blake, Charles Schachte, II, Haylie Schachte, Samuel Schachte, Jacob Schachte, Adam Schachte and Joshua Schachte; great grandchildren, Jackson and Parker Moore, Angelo and Christina Blake; her sister-in-law Nancy Ferazzi and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday January 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 am In St. Margaret Mary Church, 3055 Leechburg Rd, Lower Burrell (Everyone please meet at the church). Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, 179 Greensburg-Donahoe Station Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601. The family would like express a special thank you to the Sister’s of Bishop Morrow Care Home in Leechburg who compassionately cared for Eva for the past four years. Memorial contributions may be made in Eva's name to Bishop Morrow Care Home, 118 Park Road, Leechburg, PA 15656.
