James B. Smith

 James (Jimmy) B. Smith, 70, of Apollo, passed away on Saturday March 11, 2023.  He was the son of the late James W. and Esther Smith.  Jimmy was employed with Alcoa as a Senior Computing Technologist for 32 years before retiring.  After retiring from Alcoa, he decided to have a second career in something that he was passionate about, which was music.  Jimmy was employed at Murphy’s Music Center for several years before ultimately retiring.  Jimmy loved animals and had numerous cats and dogs over the years.  He loved to travel especially to NYC and New Orleans.  With Jimmy’s passion of playing guitar and loving music, came many concerts that he attended in recent years with those who loved him.  He is survived by his siblings Jill (Bill) Fleske of Titusville and Jennifer (Jeff) Cowen of Brackenridge; uncle of William Fleske, Timothy Fleske, Philip Cowan and Matthew Cowan; close family friends of Kerri Campbell and Tim Campbell and family.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lorrie (Sealy) Smith, his brothers Jay and Jeff.  We imagine that Jimmy is now playing guitar with all the blues guitar greats that he admired and with his wife sitting next to him listening to him play.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Frank F.
