Jodie Lynn Murray, 44, of New Kensington, passed away with her family by her side, Monday, June 4, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born in New Kensington, daughter of George and Joyce (McGivern) Murray. Jodie always had a smile on her face. She loved dirt track racing, NASCAR and country music. Jodie was a recipient of Make-A-Wish. Her wish was to go to see the cast of the TV show “90210”, Her wish was granted in 1994 in California. She graduated from Valley High School in 1993 and attended New Kensington Business Institute in 2000. Jodie worked for the DMV in New Kensington. She was a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting. Jodie was a member of Christ Our Hope Anglican Church in Natrona Heights, where she sang in the choir and was very close to her church family. Survivors include her parents, George and Joyce Murray; her sister Teri Murray Slimick; her brother, Jeffery (Anita) Murray; niece Tricia; nephew Tanner; and great niece Faith. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Onetta Murray; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Eleanor McGivern; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved faithful dogs, Lady, Dakota and Rowdy. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 in Christ Our Hope Anglican Church, 926 Painter Avenue, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
