Joseph Kosmal, Jr., 73, of Leechburg passed away on Friday October 27, 2023, after an unexpected bout of health complications. He was a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Laura (Bujalski) Kosmal. As a young man, Joseph proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Upon his return, he attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his bachelor’s degree in education. He then taught graphic arts at Butler Vocational Tech until his retirement. Being a veteran, Joseph was an immense advocate for fellow veterans. He helped many veterans receive their benefits they deserved. Through all Joseph’s achievements, he took pride in his love of photography. He enjoyed going to Pirate games with loved ones, gardening, and watching Pitt and Steeler football games with his beloved dog Scooter. Joe also loved his family time at Sunday dinners. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Anthony and his grandson Hunter Mehal. He will be deeply missed by his son Jason Kosmal, daughter Jessica (Jeremiah) Mehal, grandson Jeremiah Mehal, Jr. and great granddaughters Hunter and Paisley Mehal. Family and friends will be received on Friday November 3rd from 4 - 7 p.m. (with military honors service at 4 pm) at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., Robert P.
