Obituary

Larry R. Gamble, 78, of Apollo, stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  Larry was born in 1943 in New Kensington to the late Lee and Mary Gamble.  He graduated from New Kensington High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.  Larry worked and retired from Alcoa Technical Center.  He was a dedicated member of the Masonic Seneca Lodge No. 805 where he served as Master.  Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time outdoors.  He was active in the Pink Creek, Parks Township and Vandergrift Sportsmen's Clubs.  Larry was a member of the National Rifle Association and a Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter Education Instructor for over 45 years.  Larry is survived by his son Wayne Gamble, daughter Shannon (Phillip) Smith, grandson Brantley Smith, granddaughter Ainsley Smith, brothers Gary Gamble, Robert (Sharon) Gamble, sister-in-laws Marcy Walden and Carmen Gamble, best friend Thomas (Sandra) Scherf, nieces, nephews and several other family and friends.  Larry was preceded in death by his wife Cathy and brother Leroy.  Larry was a loving and charitable husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed but not forgotten.  Services will be private for the family.
