Marie E. (Scalise) Ference

Marie E. Ference, 67, of Lower Burrell, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021.  She was born on August 31, 1954 to the late Patsy and Margie (Bonk) Scalise and lived in the area for her entire life.  She worked as a caregiver for the elderly for over twenty years and was a member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church.  Marie was best known for striking up conversations with everyone wherever she went, having the most friends of anyone in western PA., and being the undefeated champion of family adventure races.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Marie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Tom Ference, of Lower Burrell, children, Matt Ference, of Hollidaysburg and Mallory (Mike) Codita, of New Kensington; sister Geri Magee, of Apollo, along with in-laws, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.  A memorial service with reception to follow will be held on Wednesday DECEMBER 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant Street, Lower Burrell with Pastor Doug Marshall officiating.  Because Marie wished she could adopt every dog in the world, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations are made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA  15068
