Robert Frank Fischer

Robert Frank Fischer, 90, of Homestead Village, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formerly of Dormont and West Deer Township, passed from this life on Friday February 24, 2023 to be at home in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Bob found joy in his friends and family, swimming, classical music, the Steelers, the woods, weimaraners, wildlife at Gray Hills Farm, and his Massey Ferguson tractor.  He was an Eagle Scout, First Lieutenant in the United States Army stationed in Bordeaux, France, and a chemical engineer with Gulf Oil Corporation in Cincinnati and Harmarville.  As a founding member of Christ Church at Grove Farm, he lived a life of deep and abiding faith.  Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith (Barrett) Fischer; his brother, David Fischer, and wife, Ann; his daughter, Dr. Janet Fischer, and husband, Dr. Mark Olson; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Trevor Olson.  A service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, February 27 in the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell (724) 335-6500 with the Reverend Dr. John Guest of Christ Church at Grove Farm presiding.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob’s memory be made to Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA  15143 or Hospice of Lancaster County.  www.giglerfuneralhome.com.
