Warren Oliver Rugh, 95, of Morrow, Ohio, formerly of Lower Burrell, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018. Warren was the beloved husband of 71 years, to the "love of his life" the late Martha Jane Nance Rugh, the loving father of Cheryl "Cherry" (Jim) Ashworth and David (Bonnie) Rugh; proud grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of nine; cherished son of the late Elmer and Katherine Rugh. He was a dear uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. One of the Greatest Generation, awarded two Bronze Stars for service as a P-38 C-47 Crew Chief in the Army Air Core in the China/India/Burma Theater during World War II. He enjoyed more than 60 years of officiating local area high school, junior college and division one college sports. He was an avid golfer and passionate Steelers fan. He was a 37-year employee of the Gulf Co. Research Lab. He was a devout member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME INC., Robert P. Karish, supervisor, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, 724-335-6500, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ken Foust officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, with military honors, by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
